Reading has always been my one of my favorite ways to relax. I don't get the chance to read as often as I would like to now. I just always seem to find myself with a million things on my plate.
A couple of weeks ago we were at Sam's Club and I was strolling the book section. I saw the book Twilight and I figured I'd pick it up and read it. I was surprised when I couldn't put it down. I read the first book in 5 days and the second book in the series in 4 days.
I sent Bryan back to get the third book in the series. I just can't put these books down. It's been a long time since I've been this crazy about a book.
My dad came to town and the kids haven't seen him in over a year. I was worried that he would be hurt because they would be scared of him. Dylan warmed up to him right away and Justin loved him from the start because we told him "Papa drives a big truck." The highlight of the visit...getting to drive papa's truck:
My children's favorite past time. I've given up on getting them to quit jumping on the couch. I just have to accept the fact that one of them is probably going to break an arm in the not too distant future. This first shot of Dylan is blury, but I really like the way it turned out:
Today I had the day off work so we decided it would be a perfect day to take the kids to the local pumpkin patch/fair. We did not buy any pumpkins but the kids had fun riding all sorts of rides and slides. I can't complain I had a good time too.
I took this picture of Dylan and me at the bottom of a HUGE shark slide. We were waiting for Bryan and Justin to climb to the top so I snapped this photo. Little did I know I really would be screaming like a little girl on this slide...it was fast!
Today you are all in for a treat. A photo outside the walls of my home! The kids both had well child visits with the doctor today. So to kill time while waiting for the doc we had car races on the carpet in the exam room.
I forgot my camera today, planned on taking a picture at work. So last minute I decided to take a photo of me on my deck freshly showered. It's my favorite way to relax after a long day. The only thing that's missing is my glass of wine.
Some of my other friends who are also participating in project 365 have all decided to also do some photo challenges along the way. First up, a week long photo challenge where we take a photo of ourselves in a different place everyday. Day one, just me in my kitchen. Please forgive the lack of makeup.
At least as much as it can be in Southern California. That has always been my one complaint about living in Southern California, we don't really get to experience the seasons change. The temperature will go from 100 degrees to 60 over night. The leaves on the trees will go from green to dead in a flash. Even so those quickly dead leaves make for some great fall pictures.
I took this picture tonight while we were at Legoland's Brick-or-Treat. Bryan took Dylan to get her face painted, nothing too exciting. She just wanted to complete her halloween Ariel princess costume. But when I got home and looked at the picutres, something about her face really tugged at my heart.
I'm amazed and grateful everyday that she is my daughter.
I'm a beloved wife and a doting mom to two beautiful children. Who the hell am I kidding? I'm barely hanging onto my sanity with what is left of my chewed down fingernails. Oh, and I pretty much would die without my one true love...wine.
